Red Cross Emergency Response Unit - Your Chance to Do Something Good
This time we present a game that you are sure to try - if you care. Youda games welcome you at the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, namely its Emergency Response Unit, where doctors, engineers and volunteers work together to help victims of natural disasters, military conflicts etc. You will save lives while having fun - and part of all proceeds of the game will be donated to the real Red Cross.
Ever dreamt of traveling all over the world? Grab the chance!
I am sure you have heard about the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The Movement exists to help people all over the world who found themselves in need. Red Cross always acts according to the seven fundamental principles, which are Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntarity, Unity and Universality. You, as the member of Red Cross Emergency Response Unit, will also learn to use the principles in your life.
The ERU completes its missions in the hottest spots of the world, traveling wherever their help is needed most urgently. You will control the whole operation of the unit, managing the resources and staff and saving people's lives.
Before you start the game you have to choose your difficulty level - I suggest Easy for the first time, because there will be quite a lot of things to deal with. For each mission in one of 11 high-resolution maps you have a limited amount of time to complete it (watch the clock in the bottom of the screen), a limited number of vehicles, teams and supplies and a number of tasks to fulfill. There are main tasks, like giving medical aid to sick people, shelter to homeless or relief supplies to those deprived of them, and extra tasks like clearing debris or establishing contacts with local authorities. Completing main tasks is critical for passing the mission, while extra tasks just give you additional points and may be left unattended.
Once you start a mission, for example, helping victims of an earthquake in Argentina, your first action will be building your base camp, where alll your supplies will be stored. After that you can send your first team to the spot where it is needed most desperately. For this you have some vehicles with limited capacity, so you have to control the available transport and supplies necessary to reach success.
Most of the tasks can be performed automatically, that is you just make the decisions about where to send whom and what actions to undertake. But in some cases your manual control is required, like when you deliver relief supplies with a plane or when your teams encounter some obstacles, which will sometimes multiple and unexpected. Actually, mostly you act as a real manager, but sometimes your driving or communication skills will be handy.
I could go in much more detail, but I think you have already grabbed the main idea - ERU is not just fun (though fun it is), but also a great way to help others. Are you up to it?

Is towing a 6x10 enclosed trailer with a 1996 Pontiac Bonneville SE going to grenade the transmission?
My father wants to use his 1996 Bonneville SE with a 3.8, automatic, to tow a 6x10 enclosed trailer cross country with a light to moderate load in the trailer. Assuming he keeps it in drive and no overdrive, what are your experiences, and any mechanics, thoughts?
He is set on doing it so how far down the road should I make plans to go get him? lol
It probably wouldn't hurt to have the car's brakes checked first, as stopping the added weight of the trailer can make the car's brakes work a lot harder.
I believe the towing capacity of your dad's Bonneville is somewhere around 3500 lbs. With the proper hitch mounted to the car, as long as the load (combined weight of trailer and contents) is kept below this figure, he should be fine.
Portsmouth goes back to court over unpaid taxes
Portsmouth faces another court hearing Tuesday because the British government is contesting the Premier League club's right to legal protection from creditors. The government's revenue and customs authority tried to shut down Portsmouth over unpaid taxes and is challenging the High Court's ruling last week that allowed the club to enter bankruptcy protection.
